A Word from the Editor

Austin Health Orthopaedic Outpatient Referral – template available

Austin Health has “mandated” that this form must be completed and accompany a completed Outpatient Referral Form. An electronic version is now available and can be downloaded from the NEVDGP website. If you prefer a paper-based version (and we hope no-one does) this can be downloaded from the Austin website or from the NEVDGP website as well. Both forms of the template can be found at:

Indigenous PIP: Cultural awareness training update

Online & local face-to-face training - The RACGP has confirmed they will provide an online cultural awareness course available for FREE to all its members. The preparation of the course will be informed by extensive consultation with the Indigenous community. This online module will be available in October 2010.

RACGP will manage the process for local cultural safety training providers to apply for endorsement for face-to-face training. The cultural safety criteria for these courses will be published in September 2010.
